Cancer Update

I am mostly fine. Still on a chemotherapy that causes a rash all over my body. My last CT scan show everything was stable (stable means that nothing has grown more that 20% above baseline.) except one tumor on my liver that needs to be ablated. I have scheduled two medical procedures. One on June 26 to map the blood vessels around my tumor. And another on July 2 to inject radioactive beads into the liver. Doc said that I may be tired but how tired is not known. The procedure will cause the tumor to grow initially before it shrinks. THIS IS NOT A CURE! But is should shrink and stabilize the tumor.

Like I said I feel fine. Just finished a whirlwind tour of the National Parks in South Dakota. They are conveniently grouped in the southwest corner of the state. We had fun and celebrated out 33rd wedding anniversary in a nice Italian restaurant in Rapid City, SD.

We are also doing a tour of the historic railroads of Colorado next week. If the wild fires don't cancel the Durango Silverton Railroad trip.

Cancer Status 01/16/2018

Well, I have one more session left. It has been trying because they have to give me back the magnesium that the drug is leaching out of me. So it is a 6 hour ordeal every two weeks. But they have wi-fi and I try to get work done while I sit.

They will be scheduling a CT scan after my last session to see where my tumors are. The mid-way results were promising so I am expecting good results but the not knowing is making me nervous again. Like what will be my regimen after this? I hope they don't keep me on this drug as the rash is not fun. I promise not to gross you out with pictures or details.

Well, I try to live one day at a time but it is hard sometimes. I try to find the wonder in each day I have left. It makes life more pleasant.
